The Text Elements section of the Insert tab allows users to insert decorative and formatted text content into a document. Users can add text boxes, create stylized text, insert dates and times, and import text from other files.
Insert a Text Box
The Text Box option allows users to insert a container for text that can be positioned independently within the document.
Steps to Insert a Text Box:
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Text Box.

Choose one of the following options:
- Insert Horizontal Text Box
- Insert Vertical Text Box

Click within the document and enter the desired text. The text box is added to the document.
ℹ️ NotesText boxes can be resized, moved, and formatted after insertion.
Insert Text Art
The Text Art option allows users to create decorative text using predefined styles.
Steps to Insert Text Art:
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Text Art.
- Choose a text style from the gallery.

Click the placeholder text and enter the desired content. The selected text art style is applied.
ℹ️ NotesText Art is commonly used for titles, headings, and decorative text.
Create a Drop Cap
The Drop Cap option allows users to create a large decorative first letter at the beginning of a paragraph.
Steps to Create a Drop Cap:
- Place the cursor within the paragraph.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Drop Cap.

Choose one of the following options:
- None - Removes the drop cap formatting.
- In Text - Places the drop cap within the paragraph text.
- In Margin - Places the drop cap in the left margin beside the paragraph.
- Drop Cap Settings - Opens additional customization options.
The selected drop cap style is applied to the paragraph.
Insert Date and Time
The Date & Time option allows users to insert the current date and time into the document.
Steps to Insert Date and Time:
- Place the cursor where the date or time should appear.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Date & Time.
- Choose the desired format.
- Click OK. The selected date and time are inserted into the document.
Insert Text from a File
The Text from File option allows users to import text content from another file.
Steps to Insert Text from a File:
- Place the cursor where the imported text should appear.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Text from File.

Choose one of the following options:
- Text from the Local File
- Text from the URL File
- Select the source file.
- Click Open or OK. The text content is inserted into the document.
- Only text content is imported; formatting may vary depending on the source file.
- Imported text may require additional formatting to match the current document style.
- Use Text Boxes to position content independently from the main document text.
- Use Text from File when reusing content from existing documents instead of copying and pasting manually.
