The Image option allows users to insert pictures into a document from a local file or an image URL. Users can resize, reposition, crop, replace, and format images to improve document presentation and visual communication.
Follow the steps below to insert an image into a document.
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the image.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Image.
- Choose one of the available image insertion options.
- Select the image and click Open or OK. The image is inserted into the document.

The Image menu includes the following options:
Option Description Image from File Insert an image stored on the local device. Image from URL Insert an image using an image web address.
Insert an Image from a File
The Image from File option allows users to upload an image from their device.
Steps to Insert an Image from a File:
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the image.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Image.
- Click Image from File.
- Browse and select the desired image.
- Click Open. The selected image is inserted into the document.
Insert an Image from a URL
The Image from URL option allows users to insert an image using a direct image link.
Steps to Insert an Image from a URL:
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the image.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Image.
- Click Image from URL.
- Enter the image URL.
- Click OK. The image is inserted into the document.
Resize and Move an Image
After an image is inserted, users can modify its size and position within the document.

Add a Link to an Image
Users can convert an image into a clickable hyperlink.
Steps to Add a Link:
- Select the image.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Link.
- Configure the link settings as needed.
- Click OK. The image becomes a clickable hyperlink.

- Use document links to navigate between headings and bookmarks when working with long documents that contain multiple sections.
- Add descriptive link text so users can easily understand the destination before selecting the link.
- Verify external links periodically to ensure referenced websites and resources remain accessible.
Image Settings
The Image Settings panel allows users to configure the appearance and positioning of images.

| Replace Image | Replace the current image with another image. |
| Original Size | Restore the image to its original dimensions. |
