Shape Settings – Healthicity Support

The Shape Settings panel allows users to customize the appearance and layout of shapes within a document. Users can apply fill effects, modify borders, adjust transparency, rotate shapes, apply shadows, and control text wrapping.

Follow the steps below to access shape settings.

Select a shape within the document.
Open the Shape Settings panel on the right side of the editor.
Refer to the desired section and follow the instructions:

ℹ️ Notes

SmartArt objects generally support the same settings and functionality as shapes. However, some options and behaviors may vary depending on the SmartArt layout and object type.

Fill

The Fill section allows users to customize the interior appearance of a shape.

Available Fill Types

Fill Type	Description
Color Fill	Applies a solid color to the shape.
Gradient Fill	Applies a gradual transition between colors.
Picture or Texture	Uses an image or texture as the shape background.
Pattern	Applies a predefined pattern fill.
No Fill	Removes the fill from the shape.

Color Fill Options

Option	Description
Fill Color	Select a solid fill color for the shape.

Gradient Fill Options

Option	Description
Style	Select the gradient style.
Direction	Specify the gradient direction.
Angle	Set the gradient angle.
Gradient Points	Add or modify gradient color stops.
Color	Select the gradient point color.
Position	Specify the gradient point position.
Opacity	Adjust the transparency of each gradient point.

Picture or Texture Options

Option	Description
Select Picture	Insert an image as the shape fill.
Tile	Repeats the image or texture within the shape.
Texture	Select a predefined texture pattern.

Pattern Fill Options

Option	Description
Pattern	Select a predefined fill pattern.
Foreground Color	Specify the primary pattern color.
Background Color	Specify the background color behind the pattern.
Opacity	Adjust the pattern transparency level.

Border Settings

The Border Settings section allows users to customize the appearance of shape borders.

Option	Description
Size	Adjust the border thickness.
Color	Select the border color.
Type	Select the border line style.

Opacity

The Opacity option allows users to control shape transparency.

Option	Description
Opacity Slider	Adjust the transparency level.
Percentage Value	Specify the transparency percentage manually.

ℹ️ Notes

Lower opacity values make the shape more transparent.

Rotation

The Rotation section allows users to rotate or flip a shape.

Option	Description
Rotate 90° Left	Rotates the shape counterclockwise.
Rotate 90° Right	Rotates the shape clockwise.
Flip Vertical	Flips the shape vertically.
Flip Horizontal	Flips the shape horizontally.

Wrapping Style

The Wrapping Style section controls how text interacts with a shape.

Style	Description
Inline	Places the shape within the text flow.
Square	Wraps text around the shape boundary.
Tight	Wraps text closely around the shape.
Through	Allows text to flow through transparent areas.
Top and Bottom	Places text above and below the shape.
Behind Text	Displays the shape behind document text.
In Front of Text	Displays the shape in front of the document text.

Edit Shape

The Edit Shape option allows users to modify an existing shape.

Option	Description
Edit Points	Modify the shape by adjusting individual points and segments.
Change Shape	Replace the current shape with another available shape while preserving existing formatting when possible.

Shadow

The Shadow option allows users to apply shadow effects to shapes.

Option	Description
Preset Shadows	Apply predefined shadow styles.
No Shadow	Remove the applied shadow effect.
Shadow Color	Select the shadow color.
Adjust Shadow	Configure additional shadow settings.

Adjust Shadow Options

The Adjust Shadow option allows users to customize a shape's shadow appearance.

Option	Description
Transparency	Adjust the transparency level of the shadow.
Size	Adjust the size of the shadow effect.
Angle	Specify the shadow angle relative to the shape.
Distance	Adjust the distance between the shadow and the shape.

Shape Advanced Settings
