The Content Controls feature allows users to insert structured content elements into a document. Content controls help standardize document input by providing predefined fields for text, images, dates, selections, and check boxes.

Adding Content Controls
Follow the steps below to add a content control to a document.
- Place the cursor where the content control should appear.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Content Controls.
- Choose the desired content control type. The selected content control is inserted into the document.
Available Content Control Types
| Content Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Plain Text | Insert a basic text input field. |
| Rich Text | Insert a text field that supports formatting. |
| Picture | Insert an image placeholder control. |
| Combo Box | Select from predefined options or enter a custom value. |
| Drop-Down List | Select from a predefined list of options. |
| Date Picker | Select a date using a calendar control. |
| Check Box | Insert a selectable check box. |
Moving Content Controls
Content controls can be repositioned within the document as needed.
Steps to Move a Content Control:
- Select the content control.
- Drag the control to the desired location within the document.
- Release the mouse button to place the control.

The content control is moved to the selected location.

Editing Plain Text and Rich Text Content Controls
Plain Text and Rich Text controls allow users to enter and modify content directly within the document.
Edit a Plain Text Control:
- Click within the Plain Text control.
- Enter or modify the desired text. The content is updated automatically.
Edit a Rich Text Control
- Click within the Rich Text control.
- Enter or modify the desired content.

Apply formatting as needed using the available text formatting tools. The content is updated automatically.
ℹ️ NotesRich Text controls support text formatting, while Plain Text controls are intended for unformatted text entry.
Control Settings
The Control Settings option allows users to configure the appearance, behavior, and available values for a selected content control.
Access Control Settings:
- Select a content control.
- Click Content Controls.
- Select Control Settings.
- The settings available may vary depending on the selected content control type.
General
The General tab contains basic content control properties.

| Title | Specifies the name of the content control. |
| Placeholder | Displays instructional text before content is entered. |
| Tag | Assigns a unique identifier to the content control. |
| Remove Content Control When Contents Are Edited | Automatically removes the content control after content is entered or modified. |
| Show As | Controls how the content control is displayed, such as a Bounding Box. |
| Color | Applies a color to the content control boundary. |
| Apply to All | Applies the selected appearance settings to all content controls in the document. |
Locking
The Locking tab allows users to restrict changes to a content control.

|---|---|
| Content Control Cannot Be Deleted | Prevents the content control from being removed from the document. |
| Contents cannot Be Edited | Prevents users from modifying the content within the control. |
Removing Content Controls
Content controls can be removed when they are no longer needed.
Steps to Remove a Content Control:
- Select the content control.
- Click Content Controls.
- Select Remove Content Control.

The selected content control is removed from the document.
ℹ️ NotesRemoving a content control removes the control container but preserves the content entered within it.
