Symbols and Special Characters

The Symbol feature allows users to insert commonly used symbols, special characters, and Unicode characters into a document. Users can select symbols from the quick symbol menu or browse a larger collection using the More Symbols option.

Insert a Symbol

Follow the steps below to insert a commonly used symbol.

1. Place the cursor where the symbol should appear.
2. Click the Insert tab.
3. Select Symbol.
4. Choose the desired symbol from the quick symbol list. 
5. The selected symbol is inserted into the document.

Insert Additional Symbols

The More Symbols option provides access to a larger collection of symbols and special characters.

Steps to Insert Additional Symbols:

1. Place the cursor where the symbol should appear.
2. Click the Insert tab.
3. Select Symbol.
4. Click More Symbols. The Symbol window opens.
5. Select the Symbols tab.
6. Choose the desired font and character range.
7. Select the symbol to insert.
8. Click Insert. The selected symbol is added to the document.

Insert Special Characters

The Special Characters tab provides access to additional characters that may not be available on a standard keyboard.

Steps to Insert Special Characters:

1. Open the Symbol window.
2. Select the Special Characters tab.
3. Choose the desired character.
4. Click Insert. The selected character is added to the document.
