The Equation feature allows users to insert mathematical equations and formulas into a document. Equations can be created using predefined mathematical structures and symbols, making it easier to represent mathematical, scientific, and technical content.
Insert an Equation
Follow the steps below to insert an equation into a document.
- Place the cursor where the equation should appear.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Equation.
- Choose a category and select the desired equation structure.
- The selected equation is inserted into the document.
Available Equation Categories
The Equation menu includes the following categories:

Edit an Equation
After an equation has been inserted, users can modify its content directly within the document.
Steps to Edit an Equation:
- Click the equation.
- Place the cursor within the equation.
- Update the symbols, numbers, or mathematical expressions as needed. The equation is updated automatically.
Insert Mathematical Symbols
Mathematical symbols can be added while creating or editing an equation.
Steps to Insert Symbols:
- Select or create an equation.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Equation.
- Navigate to the appropriate category.
- Select the desired symbol or mathematical structure. The selected symbol is inserted into the equation.
Working with Fractions
The Fractions category provides predefined fraction layouts. Select the desired fraction structure and enter the required values.
Examples include:
- Stacked fractions
- Skewed fractions
- Linear fractions
- Small fractions
Working with Matrices
The Matrices category provides predefined matrix layouts.
Users can:
- Insert matrix structures.
- Enter values into individual cells.
- Create mathematical tables and matrix expressions.
- Use predefined equation structures instead of manually typing complex formulas.
- Keep equations properly formatted to improve readability in technical and scientific documents.
