This article explains how to associate a domain and subdomain with an incident template in Compliance Manager. Applying domains and subdomains helps simplify the reporting process for users by breaking complex incident categories into smaller, easier steps. It guides users in identifying the general area of concern for the incident they are reporting and supports improved tracking and management of reported incidents across the organization.
Follow these steps to associate the Domain and Subdomain with the Incident Templates:
- Navigate to Admin
Template Library and select Incidents from the left menu. The Third Party Templates screen will appear.
- Either click Create a new template or select the desired template from the existing ones.
- In the Template Details page, select the Add icon next to the Domain area.
- Add a Domain window will appear. Select the desired domain from the drop-down list. If the desired domain is not listed, refer to the Creating Domains and Subdomains article and follow the instructions to create a new Domain and Subdomain.
- Once a domain is chosen, you may optionally select a subdomain if applicable. Please note that the subdomain will not appear as an automated option in the user’s Report Incident form.
How the Domain and Template Connection Works
- When a user selects Report Incident from the action menu, they are prompted with: “The incident I am reporting is related to...” and presented with a list of domains and descriptions.
- After the user selects a domain, only templates associated with that domain are shown.
- When the incident is submitted, the person responsible for the template linked to that domain will receive a notification.
Tips:
-
- If a domain is selected incorrectly when reporting an incident, an assigned investigator can update it.
- If a domain is removed from a template after it has been used, previously submitted incidents will retain the original domain assignment.
