This article describes how to assign a HIPAA Risk Assessment in Compliance Manager. It outlines the steps for selecting a location, choosing a risk category, assigning the assessment to an employee, and setting a due date.
Follow these steps to assign a HIPAA Risk Assessment task:
On the My Workspace page, navigate to the My Workspace Actions page and select HIPAA Risk Assessment from the list.
The user can also select HIPAA Risk Assessments from the secondary menu and click the plus icon to create a New Risk Assessment.
- From the Location dropdown, select the applicable location.
- To create a global risk assessment, we recommend selecting the organization's root location.
- For consultants, select the client's location from the location options.
- In the Risk Category field, select a category.
The associated risk assessment questions will display in the survey area.
- Under Assigned To, click Select Employee and choose the employee responsible for completing the assessment.
- Global risk assessment: Select Include all locations in the Select Users modal to assign the survey to any user across the organization.
- In the Due Date field, select a completion deadline.
- Click Send to assign the HIPAA Risk Assessment.
ℹ️ Notes
- All required fields, indicated by a red asterisk (*), must be completed before sending.
- Risk categories determine which assessment questions are presented.
- Due dates are used to calculate overdue assessments and dashboard metrics.
- Assigned risk assessments appear in the HIPAA Risk Assessments module and in the employee’s task list.
- Visibility and access to assessments are controlled by user role and location permissions.
