This article provides an overview of the HIPAA Risk Assessment in Compliance Manager. The HIPAA Risk Assessment is a comprehensive Security Risk Assessment tool designed to help organizations accurately identify and evaluate risks to protected health information (PHI). It supports ongoing compliance by guiding users through risk analysis, documentation, and mitigation activities to maintain an effective HIPAA risk management plan.
Follow the steps to access the HIPAA Risk Assessment Overview page:
- Navigate to the My Workspace
HIPAA Risk Assessment. The Risk Assessment Queue page will be displayed.
In the left panel, select Overview to access the Risk Assessment Overview page.
Key Sections on the Overview Page:
HIPAA Categories
Displays the number of assessments grouped under Security and Privacy, helping you understand which compliance areas have active or completed assessments.Status Summary
A visual chart showing assessment progress across three statuses:
• Complete - Fully submitted assessments
• Incomplete - Assessments still in progress
• Sent to Workplan - Items added to a corrective action planRisk Ratings
Shows how many assessments fall under each risk level, such as Low, Moderate to Low, Moderate, Moderate to High, and High, helping users quickly gauge overall risk posture.Risk Assessment Activity Feed
A chronological feed showing user actions such as assignments, completions, and updates. This provides visibility into recent activity and workflow history.The Add button, located at the top right of the Overview page, allows users to create a new HIPAA Risk Assessment.
Filters Panel
Enables users to refine displayed data with filters like Location, Score, Status, and Date Range, ensuring quick access to targeted assessment information.
