Complete a Document Approval Task

This article explains how to review and complete a document approval task within the system. Document approval ensures that content is properly reviewed and authorized before being published or shared with other users.

When a document approval task is assigned, Compliance Manager sends an email notification to the responsible person. This email includes a direct link to the task. The task can also be accessed directly from the user’s in-app task list.

Upon accessing the task, you will be directed to the Document Approval page, where you can:

• Access the Document Editor.

  ℹ️ Notes

  This option is available only for documents created using the Document Editor or uploaded as Microsoft Word files.
• Expand sections to see Document Details, Revision History, and Document Reviewers.
• Communicate with other reviewers or the document owner through Status Updates.

Follow the steps below to complete a Document Approval task:

1. Navigate to the My Tasks section in Compliance Manager. You can access My Tasks from any part of the program by clicking your initials or profile image in the top right corner.
2. Click the desired Document Approval task from the available list.
3. Under the Document Approvers section, click the document title link in blue to review the attached document.
4. If you are satisfied with the document, click on the Complete Approval button to open the Document Approval window.
5. Within the Document Approval window, you will be able to:
   • Type any desired comments in the Comments section, if applicable.

   • Select the desired status from the Review drop-down field.

     ℹ️ Notes

     If you reject changes to the document, an email is sent to the reviewer and their document review task is reopened for completion.
   • If any additional documents are needed, click the Add Document button and select the desired document.

   • Click Save to re-access the approval later, or click Save and Complete to finish the Document Approval task.

     After completing Step 5.4, you are returned to the Document Details page.

     

6. Click the Publish Document to make the document available to users in your database with access. This task is now complete.
