Protection Tab

The Protection tab provides tools for securing documents and controlling how users interact with document content. Users can encrypt documents with a password to prevent unauthorized access or apply editing restrictions to control what changes can be made within a document.

Access the Protection Tab

Follow the steps below to access the protection tools.

1. Open a document in the Healthicity Document Editor.
2. Click the Protection tab.
3. The user can perform the following functionality using the tab:
   • Encrypt a Document
   • Protect a Document

   • Remove Document Protection

Encrypt a Document

The Encrypt feature secures a document by requiring a password before it can be opened.

To Encrypt a Document:

1. Click Protection → Encrypt.
2. Enter a password.
3. Re-enter the password for confirmation.
4. Click OK.
5. Save the document.
6. The document is encrypted and requires a password to open.

Protect a Document

The Protect Document feature restricts how users can edit a document. Protection settings can optionally be secured with a password.

To Protect a Document:

1. Click Protection → Protect Document.
2. Select the desired editing restriction.
3. Optionally enter a password.
4. Confirm the password.
5. Click Protect.
6. The selected restrictions are applied to the document.

Remove Document Protection

If document protection was applied with a password, the password is required to remove the protection.

To Remove Protection:

1. Open the protected document.
2. Click Protection → Protect Document.
3. Enter the password, if prompted.
4. Remove the protection settings.
5. Save the document. The document restrictions are removed.
