The Draw tab allows users to draw freehand, add handwritten notes, highlight content, and erase drawing strokes directly within a document. These tools are useful for reviewing documents, providing visual feedback, annotating content, and emphasizing important information.
Follow the steps below to access the drawing tools.
- Open a document in the Healthicity Document Editor.
- Click the Draw tab.

Available Draw Tools
The Draw tab includes the following tools:

| Pen | Draw freehand lines and handwritten notes. |
| Highlighter | Highlight content within the document. |
| Eraser | Remove drawing strokes and highlights. |
Draw Using the Pen Tool
The Pen tool allows users to create freehand drawings and handwritten annotations.
Steps to Draw with the Pen:
- Click the Draw tab.
- Select Pen.
- Optionally customize the pen color and stroke size.
- Click and drag the cursor within the document to draw.

The drawing is added to the document.
ℹ️ NotesTo stop drawing, click the Pen tool again or press Esc.
Highlight Content
The Highlighter tool allows users to emphasize important content within the document.
Steps to Highlight Content:
- Click the Draw tab.
- Select Highlighter.
- Optionally customize the highlight color and stroke size.
- Drag the cursor across the desired content.

The selected content is highlighted.
ℹ️ NotesTo stop highlighting, click the Highlighter tool again or press Esc.
Customize Pen and Highlighter Settings
The Pen and Highlighter tools allow users to customize the appearance of drawing and highlighting strokes.
Access Pen or Highlighter Settings
- Click the drop-down arrow below the Pen or Highlighter tool.
- Select the desired settings.
Available Options
Option |
Description |
| Color Palette | Select a color from the available palette. |
| More Colors | Open additional color options to create a custom color. |
| Stroke Size | Adjust the thickness of the pen or highlighter stroke. |
| Increase Size (+) | Increase the stroke thickness. |
| Decrease Size (-) | Decrease the stroke thickness. |
More Colors
The More Colors option provides advanced color customization options.
Users can:
- Select a color using the color spectrum.
- Specify custom RGB (Red, Green, Blue) values.
- Enter a custom Hexadecimal (HEX) color code.
- Preview the current and newly selected color before applying changes.

Click Add to save and apply the selected color.
ℹ️ NotesCustom colors can be used with both the Pen and Highlighter tools.
Erase Drawings and Highlights
The Eraser tool removes drawings and highlighting strokes from the document.
Steps to Erase Content
- Click the Draw tab.
- Select Eraser.
- Move the cursor over the drawing or highlight to remove it.

The selected stroke is removed.
ℹ️ NotesThe Eraser removes complete strokes rather than partial sections of a drawing.
Select Drawings and Highlights
The Select tool allows users to select existing drawings, handwritten notes, and highlighting annotations.
Steps to Select an Element
- Click the Draw tab.
- Select Select.
- Click the desired drawing, annotation, or highlight.
- The selected element can be modified as needed.
- Use the Pen tool to add handwritten notes and visual annotations during document reviews.
- Use the Highlighter tool to emphasize important information without modifying the original content.
- Use the Eraser tool to quickly remove unwanted drawings and highlights.
