The HIPAA Workplan is a project-management tool designed to help organizations address risks identified as Recommended Actions within completed HIPAA Risk Assessment surveys. It provides a structured workspace to track tasks, monitor progress, and move compliance activities toward completion.
Follow the steps to access the HIPAA Workplans Overview page:
- Navigate to the My Workspace
HIPAA Workplans. The Workplan Queue page will be displayed.
In the left panel, select Overview to access the Workplan Overview page
Key Components of the HIPAA Workplan Page
1. HIPAA Categories Chart
Displays the number of workplan tasks grouped under Security and Privacy, offering a quick snapshot of where corrective actions are concentrated.
2. Pick Up Where I Left Off
Shows the most recent workplan item assigned to you, including the category, location, accountable user, and due date. This section helps you quickly resume pending actions without searching through the entire list.
3. Project Timeline
Presents a calendar-style timeline that indicates:
Upcoming due dates
Completed items
Compromised actions
Tasks marked as “Can’t Complete.”
This visual timeline helps track project flow and deadlines at a glance.
4. Workplan Activity Feed
Lists all recent updates and actions taken on HIPAA workplan tasks, such as:
Status changes
Updated milestones
Completed action items
General system activity
This feed provides transparency and real-time insight into workplan progress.
5. Filters Panel
Allows users to refine the displayed workplan items using:
Location
Score
Status
Date Range
Filters help users quickly focus on specific workplan areas that need attention.
6. Add (+) Button
Enables users to create a new HIPAA workplan item.
